5Very good desktop
By J. Coulter
I not long ago purchased this computer and was enjoyably surprised. It’s littler than my monitor and is sitting on top of my desk. I love the wi-fi feature but what in truth shocked me was the noise factor! There is none. There is no sound at all. The only way I may tell that it’s on is too look at the blue light on it. My one complaint is that if you want to upgrade your ram you have to move your disk drive to reach the board. I decisive versus it for now.

5Awesome HTPC
By M. Ly
After purchasing a 42 inch back lit LED TV, I was in the market for an HTPC. The choice was to either by a finish system (Acer 3910-4022) or build my own mini ITX Intel i3 HTPC. Low noise was my biggest concern since the computer is sitting in my living room it necessitated to be super quite. After installing all of the parts of the mini ITX system I turned it on and the fan noise from both the CPU and the power supply was too earsplitting for my liking. I started up the 4022 and noticed that it was super quite. I even purchased an extra graphics card Radeon 5450 1G DDR3 Silent thinking that I would need a better graphics card than the built in Intel 4500. After attempting to install the card I realized that the heat sink was when it comes to 2mm too tall and would not fit. So I said what the heck, installed XBMC as the media center and played regarding 5 movies. I was amazed at how smooth the video quality was with the built in graphics card. There was never a skip and everything worked out of the box. Since then I’ve watched rather a few movies, for the most part action and all works well. Combined with a bluetooth keyboard this scheme rocks as a media center. Compared to the mini ITX system I saved with regards to $200 bucks buying the 4022 and everything worked with little effort. I even equated the video quality versus my Intel Quad Q6600, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 8600GTS 512 MB ram and noticed no difference. Granted the 8600 GTS is an older card but I don’t think a newer card would make any divergence since the video quality is smooth. Connectivity from the 4022 is HDMI to my TV and optical to my receiver. I was hoping for HDMI to my receiver for everything but for a heap of reason my receiver wasn’t capable to redisplay any video coming from the 4022. I’m finelooking positive it is a receiver issue since HDMI directly to the TV works fine.
